Selena Stewart

Managing Director · Darwin, NT

Selena is a proud Yuin woman and the founder and Managing Director of Emus Talking. She leads the delivery of our work and personally scopes and quality assures every engagement.

How her experience supports our work

  • Business advisory and strategy: was part of the teams that opened remote service centres and brought financial services into remote communities, and now runs the strategy, pricing and procurement of her own business.
  • HR and policy: holds a Certificate in Human Resources and brings hands-on HR, recruitment, workforce and policy experience from government and community controlled organisations, including supporting an organisation through its incorporation.
  • Cultural safety: contributed to a national Indigenous cultural awareness training package, and designs and delivers cultural awareness and capability training.
  • Career development: has worked in Indigenous employment at state and national level, helping people into work and supporting employers to keep them.
  • Grant writing: has worked on the funder's side managing government grant programs, so she understands how applications are assessed.
  • Remote and on Country delivery: has led field teams across remote communities on major national projects, working alongside local people every step of the way.

She is a skilled facilitator with a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, and has helped develop national training packages.
